Jessie Louise Bartholomew , 92, Minot, died Wednesday, January 21, 2009 in a Minot Nursing Home.

Jessie Bartholomew was born in Divide County, North Dakota on December 6, 1916 to Andrew and Celia (Waage) Hemstad. Jessie was reared and educated in Crosby and attended high school in Berthold.

Jessie was united in marriage to LeRoy Bartholomew on January 30, 1954. She worked as a sales clerk for J.C. Penney for four years, and as a sales clerk at Baders for twenty years. Leroy died in October of 1967. Later in Minot, Jessie had lived at Milton Young Towers and Henry Towers, before moving to Trinity Nursing Home two years ago.

Jessie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Minot. She assisted with homebound individuals.

Surviving Family includes: sister, Marge Milas of Baldwin, ND; she is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jessie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, LeRoy; and sisters, Alma Miller, and Mable Alvstad.

Funeral: A private funeral service will be held at the Thomas Family Funeral Home.
Interment: Will take place in the spring at Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND
Visitation: At Jessie's request, there will be no reviewal, however friends may sign a memorial register book on Saturday, January 24, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. to noon, and Sunday January 25, 2009 from noon to 3:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home of Minot.
