Jerry E. Knutson, 75, Post Falls, Idaho, formerly of Plaza, passed away September 8, 2017 at the North Idaho Advanced Care Hospital.

Jerry was born on May 7, 1942 in Minot, ND son of Clarence and Grace (Vesey) Knutson. He grew up in Plaza, ND and graduated from Plaza High School in 1960. He attended the North Dakota State College of Science where he earned an associate degree in refrigeration and air conditioning. He worked various jobs over the years, including the railroad in Minnesota, Koch Materials in Williston, ND, and eventually became self-employed as a general contractor in a variety of construction trades, retiring in 2003.

Jerry is survived by his wife Jeanne (Holst) Knutson of Post Falls; daughters, Brandi (Darwin) Nickle of Norwich, ND and Jana Knutson of Sartell, MN; step-children, Sean Dyer Post Falls, Shannon (Alan) VanCurler of Liberty Lake, WA, and Steven (Melissa) Dyer of Liberty Lake, WA. He is also survived by his brother Loren (Joylea) Knutson of Minot, ND; grandchildren, Shea, Taylor, Kayden, Ashley, Zachary, Wyatt, and Ella; great-grandchildren, Taleyah and Addie and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father in 1983 and his mother in 2003.

A memorial service will be held September 30 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Post Falls, Idaho.
