Jerrod Peterson, 26, Minot, died from natural causes on Saturday, October 5, 2024, near Big Sky, MT.
Jerrod David Peterson was born September 4, 1998 in Minot, North Dakota to parents David and Robecca Peterson. In 2004, Jerrod was promoted to big brother when Justin Lee entered the world. When arriving home Jerrod was the first person to take Justin out of his car seat and was ready to play. Thus began Jerrod's journey as a great big brother.
While in his school years, Jerrod attended South Prairie and Washington for elementary school, then moved on to Jim Hill for junior high. He later attended Central Campus for 9th and 10th grade. In eleventh grade, he moved back to South Prairie, where he remained until graduating in May of 2017.
Following graduation, Jerrod began working as a paraprofessional at various schools. He most recently was employed at John Hoeven Elementary School. Jerrod had a gift when it came to working with special needs students, and took great pride in his job. He always wanted nothing but the best for his students and served them wholeheartedly.
Jerrod met his partner Aaron in February in 2022. They spent much of their time together and both enjoyed going to Mouse River Park, many trips out of state, and going out with friends and family. Their favorite trip was this summer to McCall, Idaho, where they enjoyed fine food, new friends, and many laughs.
Even as a child, Jerrod never knew a stranger. He was outgoing, witty, and had the most amazing sense of humor. He was friends with everyone who had crossed his path in life and was always the life of the party. Any room that Jerrod walked in would light up immediately. He was always telling jokes, doing impersonations of family members and friends, or sharing one of his many stories.
In his free time, Jerrod could be found with a friend or a group of friends going to eat, thrift shopping, going to garage sales, and being at Mouse River Park. He also enjoyed going to the Nodak races with his mom, aunt, cousins, and grandparents, or people watching at the fair. He especially enjoyed traveling, with his favorite trip being to New York City.
Jerrod will be remembered most for his loving heart, endless stories and memories, and his unique spark.
Jerrod is survived by: his partner, Aaron Marxen; father, David Peterson; brother Justin Peterson; grandparents, Lyle and Diane Peterson, Janice Krueger; Great-Grandmother Joyce Sayler; aunts & uncles, Daniel (Nancy) Peterson, Bobbie (Lance) Klabo; and cousins, Jordan Peterson, Jessica (Jayden) Hansen, Emma & Ellie Klabo.
Jerrod was preceded in death by: his mother, Robecca; grandfather, Leo Krueger; and great-grandfather John Sayler.
