Jerome Vilandre, 79, Minot, died Wednesday, May 1, 2019 in a Minot hospital.

Jerome Robert Vilandre was born on December 31, 1939 in St. Paul, MN to Robert and Kathleen (Hart) Vilandre.

Jerome met Ethel Whitish in Havre, MT. They later married in Denver, CO on April 1, 1961 where they made their home.

Jerome joined the United States Air Force in 1960 and served for twenty-one years. Following his retirement from the military he went to Minot State and received his Bachelors degree in Accounting and a Masters degree in Computer Science. He then was employed with the Internal Revenue Service in Fargo as a computer programmer until retiring in 1995.

Jerome enjoyed traveling in his motor home, spending time at the casinos and going down south in the winter. He had a huge love of animals and could always be found spoiling his dogs: Sadie, Samantha, Sissy and Sparky.

Jerome is survived by his wife, Ethel Vilandre, Minot; children, Robert (Lisa) Vilandre, Surrey, Gary Vilandre, Minot and Kim (Collin) Nelson, Minot; grandchildren, Tyler (Starr) Vilandre, Emily Vilandre and Danica Nelson, all of Minot; sister, Mary Ferris, Oak Island, NC and many nieces and nephews.

Jerome was preceded in death by his parents.

Liturgy of the Word Service : 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Thomas Family Funeral Home , Minot.
Visitation: Tuesday one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
Memorials are preferred to the donor's choice.
