Jennie Cecilia Rygg Anderson, 98, Bismarck, formerly of Minot, died Sunday, March 9, 2008 in a Bismarck Care Center.

Jennie Cecilia Rygg was born March 14, 1909 at Clifford, North Dakota, the daughter of Lars and Kari (Flolo) Rygg. She was raised and educated at Clifford and attended Interstate Business College at Fargo. She was employed as a secretary for an insurance company in Fargo, prior to her marriage to Alton C. Anderson of Stanley, on October 20, 1934 at her parents' home in Clifford.

They moved to Minot, where Alton and his father, Oscar V. Anderson, had started Anderson Ace Hardware in 1933. In addition to operating the Minot business, Jennie and Alton also owned and operated stores in Bismarck and Jamestown. They sold the business in 1974 and retired. Alton died in 1992. Jennie continued to make her home in Minot until June of 2005, when she moved to Bismarck to be nearer her daughter. She entered the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center in July of 2005.

Jennie was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church, Minot and was a former member of the Minot Zonta Club.

Her loving family includes : Daughter, Janet McCallum and her husband Robert of Bismarck;Granddaughters: Laura McCallum of St. Paul, MN and Lisa McCallum of St. Paul, MN;Great-Grandson: Wyatt Andrew McCallum Miller, St. Paul, MN.

Jennie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Jerome, sisters: Minnie Rygg and Alice Stanfill and twin brother Alf Rygg.

Funeral service : Friday, March 14, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in First Presbyterian Church, Minot.
Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot.
Visitation: Thursday from 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
In lieu of flowers or plants the family prefers memorials to First Presbyterian Church, Minot.
