Jeffrey Schlag, 59, Minot, died Saturday, September 10, 2016, in a Minot hospital.

Jeff was born December 20, 1956, in Harvey, North Dakota to Theodore and Ruth (Yahnke) Schlag. His youth was spent living in Aylmer until the family moved to Minot. Jeff graduated from Minot High School in 1975.

He worked at Bray's Cleaner's for a time until he joined the Minot Public School System as a custodian. He spent his career at Lincoln Elementary until the flood relocated him to Washington School. Jeff treasured the relationships he developed during his tenure with both the students and faculty he worked alongside on a daily basis.

Jeff was once married to Sue Pellett. Their 27-year relationship as best friends and companions who loved each other dearly, blessed them with grandchildren, who Jeff loved so dearly his entire life.

Jeff enjoyed riding motorcycle, games of chance, his beloved dogs and last but not least the Minnesota Vikings. He will be missed by all who shared in his life.

His surviving family includes his brothers, Al and his wife, Chris, of Minot, Dennis, of Bismarck, ND and Duane of Webster, MN; grandchildren, Trey and Skylar Pellett; companion, Sue Schlag, Minot and her son, Shannon Pellett; nieces and nephews, Traci Schlag, Amy Dennis, Maeve Kane, Matthew Kane, Nathan Schlag, Shelby Schlag, Jarrett Schlag, Jesse and Sarah Crawford, Michael Senechal, Jamie Greaves and Ethan Pellett, who was also his godson, along with numerous great nieces and nephews.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents.

Celebration of Life Service: 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot.

Visitation: Monday, September 19, 2016, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
