Jeanne E. Roth, 66, Napoleon, died April 19, 2008, at the Wishek Community Hospital.
Jeanne Ulfers was born August 19, 1941, at Johnstone Memorial Hospital in Beach, ND, to Donald LeRoy and Helen Rose (Kippley) Ulfers. She attended country school in Lapla Township and graduated from Beach High School in 1960.
Jeanne attended Eastern Montana College of Education for two years, and graduated from Montana State University of Bozeman with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 1964. Following her graduation she worked in the Catskill Mountains as a camp nurse in the summer of 1964. Upon her return, she moved to Bismarck, ND, where she worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Alexius Medical Center. While at St. Alexius, she traveled to Honduras in Central America, providing immunizations through missionary work, during the summer of 1965. Jeanne continued her employment at St. Alexius until March 1967.
Jeanne was united in marriage to Ray "Pat" Dennis Kleppe, on March 22, 1967, at Zion Lutheran Church in Bismarck, ND. They made their home on the homesteaded Kleppe family farm, located 3 miles south of Kintyre, ND. They farmed, raising small grains, cattle and horses. In addition to helping on the farm, she continued her career in nursing at the Linton hospital until giving birth to her first child.
Jeanne began employment as a postal clerk with the Kintyre Post Office in the late 1960's, working in Hazelton and lastly in Napoleon, ND until April 1982. Following Pat's death on December 22, 1976, Jeanne moved to Napoleon.
Jeanne was united in marriage to James Clarence Roth July 22, 1978, at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Kintyre, ND. They made their home in Napoleon and continued to operate the farm south of Kintyre until 1988. Jeanne returned to nursing in 1992. Following her recertification, she gained employment at the Napoleon Care Center as an RN, working until her retirement in 2005. Following her retirement, Jeanne cared for her husband until his death on June 5, 2006.
Jeanne continued to reside in Napoleon, where she enjoyed reading, bird watching, watching her daytime television shows, visiting with friends, playing pinochle, taking trips to the casino, and most important, spending valuable time with all of her grandchildren who she loved so dearly. She will be deeply missed by all who shared in her life but remembered fondly in stories told by her family.
Surviving family includes: Daughter: Patricia (Mike) Anderson, Bovey, MN; Sons: William (Tara) Fierke-Kleppe, Orr, MN, Mark (Allison) Roth, Minot, ND, and Matthew Roth, Napoleon, ND; Grandchildren: Erik Anderson, Chase and Davis Kleppe, and Kyley and Madison Lauf; Sisters: Judy Gress, Farmington, MN and Jeanette (Ross) Hayden, Fairbanks, AK; Brother: Jim (Mary Anne) Ulfers, Beach, ND; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her Parents, and husbands, Pat and Jim.

Thursday, April 24, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Napoleon, ND;
Interment:
Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery, Kintyre, ND;
Visitation:
At Jeanne's request, there will not be any reviewal, however, family and friends are invited to sign a memorial register book on Wednesday, April 23, 2008, from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, and prior to the start of the funeral service at the church.

Memorials are preferred to the donor's choice.
