Jeanne Frances Hohmann, 95, Minot, died Wednesday, July 2, 2014 in a Minot Hospital.

Jeanne was born November 11, 1918 at Fargo, North Dakota the daughter of Frank and Mabel (Gilbertson) Rodgers. She was raised and educated at Stanley and Parshall and graduated from Parshall High School in 1936. She attended cosmetology school in Minot and later was involved in the operation of the Northeast Beauty Shoppe in Minot with her mother for 8 years.

Jeanne was united in marriage to Sidney Hohmann on May 8, 1943 in Minot. Following their marriage, they made their home in Minot, where she was employed with Minot Public Schools as a librarian at Roosevelt Elementary School for several years and taught piano lessons locally for more than 20 years. Sid died May 15, 1990. She continued to make her home in Minot throughout the years.

Jeanne lived her life grounded in the Christian faith. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and active in FLCW circles, a church librarian, involved with bible study groups, served on the deaconess board, as a Sunday school teacher and a member of the quilters group. She was also a long time Trinity Auxiliary member, a member of Sons of Norway and a Board member for the 2nd Story. She enjoyed traveling, playing bridge and gardening. She also enjoyed sharing her divinity, krumkaka and homemade rolls with many people throughout the years. With her positive and appreciative attitude she was an inspiration to all.

As quoted by a dear friend, "She was a shining star to many."

Jeanne's loving family includes , grandchildren, Nicole Hohmann, of Apple Valley, MN, Alissa Hohmann (Mark Wavra) of Grand Forks, ND, Tanya Hohmann, Bismarck, ND, Stacy (Bill) Shomento, Bozeman, Montana, & Stephanie Hurd of Grand Forks, ND; great grandchildren, Sofia, Anya, Henry, Kaylynn, Zachery, Karlissa, Kallena, Briana, Rome, Olivia, & Johnathan; daughter in law, Kathy Hohmann of Grand Forks, ND; sister, Delores Veenendaal, Morris, MN; nephew, Roger Veenendaal, Morris, MN.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons, Douglas, Kenneth, Dale, Dean and infant son, Donald; daughter in law, Cherie Hohmann and niece, Jeannie Veenendaal.

Funeral service : Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in First Lutheran Church, Minot.

Interment : Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.

Visitation: Monday from 3:00-7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorials are preferred to First Lutheran Church, 2nd Story or Trinity Hospice.
