Jeanne Curry, 86, Minot died on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 in a Minot hospital.
Jeanne was born on March 9, 1923 in Toledo, Ohio to Gladys Huellmantel. She was reared in Traverse City, MI and graduated from St. Francis High School there in 1940. As a young adult she owned and operated a dance studio for tap and ballet lessons. She also was an entertainer and danced and played piano in many night clubs. Jeanne married Jerald S. Rosser in 1946. He died in a car accident in 1947. Jeanne married William P. Curry on March 14, 1952 in Toledo, Ohio. Bill was employed by the FAA and they made their home in many places including; Toledo, OH, Rochester, MN, Fargo, McGrath, Alaska, Northway, Alaska, Ottumwa, Iowa, and Minot. After they moved to Minot she did daycare in her home. Following Bill's retirement from the FAA, they continued to reside in Minot. Jeanne was passionate about her responsibilities as a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.
Jeanne was a member of the Catholic faith family and especially enjoyed music, playing piano and keyboard, reading, crossword puzzles, and knitting. She loved cats and was affectionately known as Grandma Kitty.
Jeanne is survived by her loving husband: William P. Curry; children: Jerry (Edith) Curry of Fairbanks, AK, Tom Curry of Fargo, and Pat Eckroth of West Fargo; grandchildren: Jennifer, Bryan, Brenda, Breanna, Brandon, Jessica, Robert, Kari and Edward as well as 10 great grandchildren and Scooter the cat.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her mother and first husband.
Funeral Service:
Wednesday, May 13, 2009 - 10:00 a.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home Chapel.
Graveside Service:
Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery - rural Mandan.
Visitation:
Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home- Minot.
Memorials:
Jeanne loved all animals and memorials are preferred to the Souris Valley Animal Shelter of Minot.
