J eanette E. Register , 93, Spearfish, SD, formerly of Minot, Sawyer, and Butte, died Wednesday, August 22, 2018, in a Spearfish nursing home.

Jeanette was born April 22, 1925 in Newburg, ND to Joseph and Celina (Cadieux) Lamoureux. She spent her youth in Newburg and was a graduate of the Notre Dame Academy in Willow City, ND. Jeanette attended college at Minot State University and was employed as a young adult at First National Bank in Minot.

Jeanette was united in marriage to Allen J. Register in April 1945 in Texas. While he completed his honorable service in the US Military in Japan, Jeanette lived in Sawyer, ND. They moved to Minot in 1948 and resided there until 1968 when they purchased Shorty's Bar in Butte, ND. They operated the business for 20 years until they reached retirement and sold the business. Jeanette and Allen spent winter months in Arizona and the summers back in ND. Allen passed away in 1991. Jeanette moved to Minot where she continued to reside until July of this year, when she moved to be near her family.

Jeanette was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, Elks and Eagles Aerie, all of Minot and the American Legion Auxiliary of Butte. She enjoyed volunteering at the Hostfest, for RSVP, the airport and various other events. Jeanette spent numerous hours as a St. Joseph's Auxiliary volunteer working in the gift shop. Jeanette's hobbies included doing crossword puzzles and reading, along with bowling when she was younger. She enjoyed time in her garden often canning the fruits of her labor. She loved to host coffee times with groups of her neighbors enjoying conversation and friendship for many years.

Jeanette's loving family includes her daughters, Cheryl Wilder, Spearfish, SD and Kathy (Rich) Moseanko, LaVerne, CA; daughter-in-law, Edith Register, Castle Rock, CO; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Helen Benson, Corona, CA and Eva Goodman, Minot along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Allen, sons, Ronald, Gary, and Gerald Register, a grandson, an infant sister and brother, sisters, Cecilia Skagen, Mary Ann Doucette, Celina Sherman, Alice Hunter and Irene Deschamp and brothers, Ernest, Joe, Lawrence, Vincent Lamoureux.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church in Minot.
Recitation of Rosary: 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot to be followed by fellowship at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2018, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to St. Joseph's Foundation, Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance, MS Society, World Vision or the Catholic Relief Services.
