Obituary

Jean Leone Pringle, 101, lifelong Minot resident and widow of Ken Pringle, longtime Minot attorney, died Tuesday, January 20, 2015 in her home.

Jean was born on January 16, 1914 in Minot to Omon and Fern (Prescott) Herigstad. She was reared and educated in Minot, graduated from Minot High School in 1932 and attended Minot State Teachers College from 1932 to 1934. During that time, she pledged the Beta Theta Sorority and served as their president in 1934. She transferred to and graduated from Jamestown College with a degree in Social Studies in 1936.

Jean was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Kenneth Pringle, on September 1, 1937 in Minot. They made their loving home in Albert Lea, MN and Sioux Falls, SD before Ken served in the U.S. Navy. They returned to Minot in 1945 after the war. She assisted Ken with his law practice at Pringle and Herigstad Law Firm. Together they raised four wonderful children and traveled the world until Ken died in 1983.

Jean was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she was active as an ordained deacon and as a member of various women's organizations. Also, she was a member of PEO Chapter R, a ladies bowling league called the Daiquiri Dolls, Gerties Sewing Circle and the Minot Symphony League. She was a member of the International Order of Rainbow for Girls and volunteered for the Red Cross.

Jean especially enjoyed sharing homemade meals with her family and friends, creating and experiencing music from all genres, composing poetry and prose, and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up right before her eyes. In the past year and half, she lived at The View in Minot under the loving care of their staff with whom she shared a mutual respect and heartfelt appreciation. She will be remembered as the classiest of ladies who knew the appropriate time to be prim and proper and when one should be silly and carefree..

Jean's loving family includes her children: Priscilla Wells, Fairfield, IA, Roger (Sylvia) Pringle, Jamestown, ND, Alice Pringle, Tucson, AZ and Jane (Dr. Stan) Hirst, Minot; sister: Lucile Broyles (Jim White), Minot; 12 grandchildren: Kevin (Lili) Wells, Scott (Tonya) Pringle, Marisa (Markus) Braukmann, Chad (Tracey) Pringle, Hee-Ja (Imre) Keseru, Todd Pringle (Stacey Ackerman), Alex Heitlinger (Kate Stevenson), Claire Heitlinger, Bethany (Mark) Jensen, Brianna (Paul) Heggeseth, Reed Heitlinger and Andrew Hirst; 16 great-grandchildren: Kendall Wells, Audrey Wells, Lane Pringle, Brooklyn Pringle, Hunter Pringle, Medora Pringle, Finn Brauckmann, Alena Pringle, Hope Pringle, Ryder Pringle, Liam Wells, Mika Braukmann, Jackson Pringle, Michael Keseru, Mckenna Jensen, and Kolton Jensen and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
