Obituary

Jean Rosemary Laskowski, 87, Minot passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018 in a Fargo hospital from complications related to a stroke suffered on January 14, 2018 and with members of her loving family at her side.

Jean was born on April 1, 1930 in Minot to Leo and Frances (Swanson) Vassar. She was reared and educated in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1949 and from the Minot Business College in 1951.

Jean married Robert Laskowski on February 22, 1952 in Minot. They made their home in Minot where she was employed as a secretary at the Trinity School of Nursing, St. Joseph's Hospital and Minot Vocational Rehabilitation. After she retired in 1995 she volunteered for the Senior Companion program and RSVP. Robert passed away on August 10, 2001.

Jean was a member of the Presbyterian Church and American Legion Auxiliary both in Minot. She especially enjoyed knitting, and crocheting blankets for many loved ones. Jean played the piano beautifully and loved listening to all types of music. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, and watching sports, especially the Minnesota Twins. She had many travels with her family, and especially enjoyed the family trips to the Oregon Coast. Jean loved to see new places and traveled extensively with family on both the east and west coasts. She was a kind, independent, loving individual who always put others needs before her own. Jean was more than a friend to people who met her, and was considered Mom, Grandma, and Sister by many who also thought of her as family. Although Jean is no longer with us, her kindness and genuine loving soul will be remembered by all who knew her. We love and miss you so much dear Mom.
