Jean Kringen, 93, Minot, died Wednesday, March 14, 2012 in a Minot Healthcare Center.

Jean was born June 6, 1918 at Mercer, North Dakota, the daughter of Theobald and Margaret (Degg) Hofer. She was raised and educated at Mercer and baptized and confirmed at the Lutheran Church in Mercer.

Jean was united in marriage to Kenneth Kringen on August 5, 1939 at Minot. They made their home in Minot throughout the years, where along with raising their four children, she was employed at Trinity Hospital as a nurses' aide for twenty-five years on the OB/GYN floor. Kenneth died on May 24, 1983. Jean retired in 1984.

Jean was a longtime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Minot, where she was active with the church's LWML aide, served as a choir member and involved in various Bible studies. Jean enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading and traveling.

Her loving family includes, children, Richard (Vicki) Kringen, Mesa, AZ, Wayne (Diane) Kringen, Boise, ID and Ginger Goulette, Minot; daughter-in-law, Vanassa Kringen, Sawyer; grandchildren, Carmen Kringen, Shawn Kringen, Kristi (Jeff) Lozensky; Nathan (Michelle) Goulette & Kody Kringen; great-granddaughter, Amber Lozensky; sister, Martha Lang, Minot.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Kenny, son, Tom, granddaughter, Nicki, brothers, Art and Otto, sisters, Bertha, Amelia, Emma & Polly.

Celebration of Life Service: Monday, March 19, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in St Paul's Lutheran Church, Minot.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot. Visitation: Sunday from noon-4:00 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot. Memorials are preferred to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Minot or an organization of the donor's choice.
