Janet Herman , 60, Karlsruhe, died Friday, July 30, 2021 in her home.

Janet was born in Minot, ND May 4, 1961 to Merle Herman and Carol Otto Reif. She was raised and educated in Minot. Janet loved motorcycles and going for rides with her extended family. She also loved parties with good friends, camping, fishing, reading a good book, and life itself.

Janet is survived by her life partner: Mike Mertz, daughter: Emily Schiele, sister: Diana Strachen, beloved dogs: Sam and Minnie, special sister: Deanna (Randy) Hunter, and one's she always called her kids: sons- Scott (Ashley) Ferguson, Shawn (Jessie) Kesler, and daughter- Kayla (Marc) Clementich.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents: Merle and Alice Herman, Gerold and Carol Reif, infant daughter: Mary, brother-in-law: Raymond Strachen, father and mother-in-law: Walter and Eunice Ann Mertz.

Private family memorial services will be held at Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot; August 20, 2021.

Public Visitation will be held at Thomas Family Funeral Home on August 19, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Memorials are encouraged to be shared with Furry Friends Rockin Rescue of 2906 Morrison Ave, Lincoln, ND 58504.

Friends are encouraged to gather August 20th at 1:45 at the Grain Hopper parking lot on Valley Street, Minot, for the funeral procession to Velva Cemetery. A public memorial gathering at the Karlsruhe City Hall will be held after graveside service.
