Jane Vestuto, 79, Minot, died Saturday, September 5, 2026, in a Minot care center. 

Jane lived life on her own terms, and fittingly, she left this world peacefully and in her own way. She found happiness in some of life's simplest pleasures—a good cup of coffee, getting lost in a book, and having a conversation with just about anyone willing to lend her an ear. And if you did lend her your ear, chances are you knew exactly what Jane thought by the time the conversation was over.

She was direct, honest, and never one to sugarcoat much of anything. That was Jane. She had a wonderful sense of humor, a feisty spirit, and a way of saying exactly what was on her mind. Whether she was making you laugh, giving you her opinion—asked for or not—or simply sitting down to talk, she had a personality you didn't easily forget.

Jane deeply loved her parents, John and Mabel Field, and there is comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with them.

For those of us left behind, there will be an empty chair, one less cup of coffee being poured, and a voice we will wish we could hear just one more time. But there will also be countless memories, stories, laughs, and pieces of Jane that will remain with us for the rest of our lives.

She was a mother, family, a friend, and unmistakably herself.

Jane will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever a part of us.

Rest peacefully, Mom. We love you, and we will remember you forever.
