Jim Weiskopf, 82, Minot, died Wednesday, April 8, 2020 in his home.
Jim was born October 25, 1937 in Minot, ND to Charles and Clara (Schneider) Weiskopf. He spent his youth in the community of Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1956.
Jim was united in marriage to Judith Johnson on December 28, 1973 in Minot. They lived within city limits for a brief time until settling into their country home west of Minot, where they would remain the rest of their lives together.
Jim was part owner of Mallard Motors for five years of his life. He was a truck owner/operator for 22 years, a licensed pilot and has owned/operated Weiskopf Truck and Salvage since 1986.
Jim was a member of the Minot Moose Lodge and NoDak Race Club.
He enjoyed spending time in his yard, showcasing his mechanical abilities on heavy equipment, and of course time in the sky. Jim loved all animals and raised many chickens, horses, ducks on his property over the years. He will be missed by all who were blessed to share in his life.
Jim was survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Judy, Minot; loving children Dana Weiskopf (Aaron Kirkeby), Kennedy, MN and Bryan Weiskopf, Minot; sister Jean (Elwood) Thorpe, Minot, ND along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Eleanor Weiskopf and Arla Knauff and brother, Charles 'Buzz' Weiskopf.
A private family service will be held on Monday, June 1, 2020 at Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Public visitation while observing social distancing will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
