James "Jim" Wilbur Olson , 61, Minot, formerly of Mohall, died Monday, May 6, 2013 in his home.
Jim was born on April 12, 1952 in Minot, North Dakota, the son of Dr. Clarence and Irene (Huffman) Olson. He was raised in Mohall and graduated from Mohall High School in 1970. Jim attended North Dakota State University in Fargo, where he earned a degree in Communications; Brown University in Minneapolis, where he earned a degree in Broadcasting; and Central Michigan University, where he earned a Master\'s degree in Business.
Jim was employed as a Disc Jockey for the #1 Country Western Station in the Wabash Valley in Celina, Ohio. He returned to North Dakota and became the Assistant Manager of Musicland in Fargo; he later became the Manager of Musicland in Minot. He had several other jobs in Minot, but was most recently employed at the Udder Place. He had lived in Minot for the past 33 years.
Jim\'s hobbies and interests centered around music and sports. While he loved many different types of music, his favorite genre was Rock \'n\' Roll. He was an avid fan of the Minnesota Twins and the Minnesota Vikings.
He is survived by his father, Dr. Clarence Olson, Minot; brothers, Richard (Mary Burns) Olson, Minot and Dr. David (Kathy) Olson, Minot; sister, Mary Ellen (Gene) Knoll, Ashley, North Dakota; and several nieces, a grand-niece, and a nephew.
Jim was preceded in death by his mother.
Funeral service: Thursday, May 9, 10:00 a.m. at Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Interment:
Mohall Community Cemetery, Mohall, later in the spring.

: One hour prior the service in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
