James 'Jim' Turner , 60, Los Angeles, CA, formerly of Minot, ND, died Monday, January 11, 2021 in his home.

James was born to Leon Jr. and Matsuko 'Nikki' (Kawasaki) Turner on February 20, 1960 in New Hampshire, while his father was stationed at Pease AFB, located near Newington. He called Minot home during his youth. Jim was a successful athlete for Minot High School participating in football, track and swimming. He graduated with the class of 1978.

Jim moved to California in 1988. He started a job in Van Nuys, CA with a water and pool treatment company. He remained with the company for 32 years, currently holding the position of manager until his passing.

Jim was a generous man his entire life, always putting others before himself. He enjoyed time on the golf course, singing karaoke and was a lifelong artist who was talented with a pencil. He will be missed by those who were blessed to share in his life.

Jim is survived by his siblings, Marilyn Turner and Erik Turner, both of Minot and Charles Turner, Richfield, MN; nieces, Sommeral Turner and Chantel (Seth) Fruhling, nephew, Timothy Johnson, Jr. all of Minot; sister-in-law, Julie Turner, Minot; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and brother Leonard 'Lenny' Turner.

A service to honor Jim will be held in the summer of 2021 with interment held at Rosehill Memorial Park in Minot, ND.
