James William Dowd, age 23, of Dubois, Wyoming, passed away on June 13, 2026 in Minot, North Dakota. He was born on March 19, 2003 in Grass Valley, California. 

James graduated from Dubois High School in 2021. After graduating from Wyotech, he went to work for Liberty Energy and Oilfield Services in Williston, North Dakota. There, he not only expanded his skills and love of diesel mechanics but also found a home away from home with the hard-working men and women whom with he shared half of his adult life. He was a very generous and social man who was always there for someone in need. He loved his family, coworkers, playing music and taking in the beauty of the sunrise. 

James is survived by his mother, Catherine Dowd; father, Tyler Dowd; sisters, JessicaRose Gleim and Rebecca Dowd; brothers in law, Wyatt, Gage, and Kaleb Gleim; nephew, Ozias Gleim and niece, Catherine Gleim.

 A celebration of life will be held in Dubois, Wyoming in the coming weeks.
