James "Jim" Michael Conroy, 69, Minot, formerly of Rugby, died Sunday, April 15, 2018 in a Minot Hospital.

Jim was born November 2, 1948 at Rugby, North Dakota the son of Donald and Margaret (Hutchinson) Conroy. He was raised and educated in Rugby, graduating from Rugby High School in 1967. He attended the Bottineau School of Forestry and graduated with a degree in general education in 1969.

Jim was employed at a Grand Forks Hospital for several months prior to being struck with a disability, following which he moved home to live with his family.

Jim moved to Minot in 2012 and became a resident of Edgewood Senior Living. The staff and residents were his family. Jim enjoyed afternoon cappuccino at the Bistro, along with regular Happy Hours at Edgewood\'s Fireside Bistro. Jim attended weekly Catholic services at Edgewood led by Steve Mays.

Jim was an avid baseball and basketball fan and enjoyed watching many sporting events on TV. He also loved to go to Dakota Square Shopping Center to attend movies and shop. Jim's favorite outing was having steak dinners with Shannon.

His loving family includes, first cousins, Don Conroy, Casa Grande, AZ; Colleen (Don) Martel, Lakeville, MN; cousin and caregiver, Shannon Conroy (Don Aasen) of Minot; along with many other cousins and a host of friends at Edgewood.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents.

A Private Celebration of Life service will take place at Edgewood in Minot.
Interment: later this Spring in Persilla Watts Cemetery, Rugby.
