Jacob Stephen Greeman, 83, Deering, formerly of Foxholm, died Monday, September 16, 2013 in a Minot Nursing Home.
Jacob was born March 22, 1930 at Foxholm, North Dakota, the son of Mike and Margaret (Thomas) Greeman. He was raised and educated at Foxholm and then moved with his family to a farm near Deering.
During his younger years, he worked for Deering area farmers as a farm laborer. He then went to work as an auto mechanic, first with Fisher Motor, then with Auran Chevrolet, before finishing his career with Jim Ryan Chevrolet. He was proud of the fact that he had become a certified transmission specialist.
Jacob was once married to Theresa Longie. He enjoyed going to the Sky Dancer Casino at Belcourt. He loved to tinker with garden tractors and was known to build a snowblower out of combine parts.
Jacob's family includes , son, Stephen (Teresa) Greeman, Deering; daughter, Tina (David) Lemer, Minot; grandchildren, William, Kay, Jacob, Shane & Tisha; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Anna Salvey, Minot and Rose Fredrickson, rural Deering; several nieces nephews and cousins.
Jacob was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Elizabeth Greeman and Julie Baumgarten.
Mass of Christian Burial
: Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.
Interment
: St Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Foxholm, ND.
Visitation:
Wednesday from 3:00-7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Foxholm.
