Obituary

Jack Dale McCarty, 70, formerly of Sawyer, ND, died on November 21, 2010, surrounded by his loving family at McIntosh Senior Living, McIntosh, MN.

He was born on July 2, 1940 to Albert & Blanche (Davis) McCarty. Jack grew up in Kansas and Jamestown, ND. He joined the Army in 1958, he served in the 82nd Airborne, and he had an honorable discharge in 1962. He loved being a paratrooper and had many stories from this time of his life. He married the love of his life, DeeMaris Annis on June 30, 1960. Together, they lived in North Dakota, California, Minnesota, and again in North Dakota.

They were blessed with six children; he was a dedicated and respected father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a proud Irishman that worked hard to provide for his family. During his time in Sawyer he was a volunteer Fireman, which he enjoyed. He spent a lot of time hunting with his family and had a love for the Badlands. DeeMaris died January 6, 2008.

He is survived by his children: Jay (Emily) McCarty, TN, DeeMaris (Rod) Buckingham, MN, Lori, (Jamie) Nelson, CA, Kelly (Darin) Opperude, Wendy (Tracy) Snyder, Patrick (Cammy) McCarty, all of Minot; mother: Blanche; brothers: Gene (Jackie), Kim (Tracy), TX, Terry (Faye) McCarty, Minot; 18 Grandchildren and 3 Great-Grandchildren.

Jack was preceded in death by his father, Albert McCarty and wife, DeeMaris (Annis) McCarty.

Celebration of Life Service: Friday, November 26, 2010 at 1:00pm. in First Assembly of God Church, Minot.
V isitation : At the request of the family, there will be no reviewal, however friends may sign a memorial register book one hour prior to the service at the church.
