Irene Donay, 90, Minot, died Monday, July 2, 2007, in a Minot nursing home.

Irene was born on October 29, 1916, in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Stanley and Stella (Lemanski) Kubacki. She was raised and educated in Milwaukee.

Irene was united in marriage to Walter Donay on November 27, 1947, in Milwaukee. Walter died in 1969, and Irene continued to live in Milwaukee where she worked in a bakery. Irene moved to Minot in 1991.

Irene enjoyed reading, sewing, and taking care of her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot, the Catholic Daughters of America, and the Senior Citizens League.

Surviving family includes: Daughter: Alane (Joseph) Ferrara, Minot; Grandchildren: Mark Ferrara, Red Lodge, MT, Matthew and Kacy (Christen) Ferrara, Fairborn, OH, and Lisa Ferrara, Spokane, WA.

Irene was preceded in death by her husband Walter; sisters: Mary Malkowski, Celia Philipp, Anna Zimmerman, Alice Kautz, Helen Stanioch; brothers: Leo Kubacki, Walter Kubatzki, Alois Kubacki, and Louis Kubacki, all of Milwaukee.

Funeral: Friday, July 6, 2007, at 10:30 a.m., in St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot.
Interment: St. Adalberts Cemetery, Milwaukee, WI.
Visitation: Thursday, July 5, 2007, from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Minot Catholic Schools or the Souris Valley Humane Society.
