Irene Bachmeier , 76, Minot, died Wednesday, September 12, 2012 in a Minot nursing home.

Irene was born April 11, 1936 to Frank and Teresa (Feller) Bachmeier in Karlsruhe, ND. She was raised and educated in Karlsruhe, attending St. Peter and Paul Catholic School until her family moved to Minot in 1950.

Irene moved to Minneapolis, MN in 1956, gaining employment at various laundry services throughout the twin cities until her retirement in 1982. She returned to Minot in early 2000 where she resided at Henry Towers for many years. Irene became a resident of Trinity Homes in 2009, where she enjoyed the programs and activities provided to the residents.

Irene enjoyed puzzles, listening to music, fishing, spending time with her pet kitties, knitting, playing cards or just visiting with people.

Her loving family includes sisters, Elaine Berntson, Minot, ND and Rose Ann Wilson, Milwaukee, WI; brother-in-law, Bruce Christenson, Minot and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Janet Christenson and brothers, Edward and Daniel Bachmeier.

Mass of Christian Burial: 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 17, 2012 at Trinity Nursing Home Chapel, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation: Sunday September 16, 2012 from noon - 5:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
