They moved to Minot in 1998. Dennis died on January 2, 2002. Ione continued to live in Minot, most recently at Edgewood Vista since March of 2012.

Ione was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Minot. She was also a member of the Valley Homemaker's Club. Her special interests included cooking, gardening and baking. She was well known for her "famous" coconut and banana cream pies. Ione's greatest joy was spending time with her family.
