Ione Hanson , 75, Minot, formerly of Custer, SD, died Monday, June 1, 2020 in her daughter's home.

Ione Frances Hanson (Cooke) was born in London, England September 26, 1944. She immigrated to the United States with her mother in 1947. She grew up in Anamoose, North Dakota.

Ione married Raymond Hanson on October 21, 1962. They raised seven children on a farm in central ND.

Ione trained and became a CNA. She worked for Trinity Hospital in Minot ND until they moved to Custer SD. Ione then worked for the nursing home and assisted living facilities there.

Ione was crafty.  She enjoyed crocheting and knitting in her spare time.

Ione is survived by her children, Violet Hanson, Kathleen (Sean) Meehan, Sophie Hanson, Alan (Sylvia) Hanson, Melissa (Terry) Steinhouse, Cindy (Eric) Swanson; 19 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Ione is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; her parents, Frank Cooke and Violet Stuber and daughters Jean Hanson and Barbara Haugen.

Family will host a memorial gathering by invitation on Saturday, June 27, 2020 starting at 1:00 p.m. in Surrey, ND.
