Obituary

Inga S. Hanson, 98, Minot, formerly of Donnybrook and Lignite, died Sunday, July 7, 2013 in a Minot Nursing Home.

Inga was born January 9, 1915 on the family farm near Lignite, North Dakota, the daughter of Peder and Maline (Stromhoved) Berg. She was raised on the family farm in Burke County and educated at country schools in that area. She graduated from Columbus High School.

Inga was united in marriage to Gilbert Hanson on June 6, 1937 in Lignite. They lived on the Hanson Family farm for a short time before moving to a farm near Donnybrook in 1944. They farmed there until retiring in 1976. They moved to Minot in 1985. Gilbert died September 28, 1988. Inga had continued to live in Minot throughout the years and entered ManorCare Nursing Care Center in June of 2012.

Inga was a member of Carpio Lutheran Church, Carpio and the Sons of Norway Thor Lodge, Minot. She enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time or visiting with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Her loving family includes, sons, Galen (Jeri) Hanson of Moore, South Carolina, Noel (Geri) Hanson of Williston, and Rodger (Jerilyn) Hanson, Minot; grandchildren, Connie, Carol, David, Beth, Jay and Jodi; Eleven great grandchildren; brother, Ody (Bernice) Berg, Minot.

Inga was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters, Thelma and Agnes.

Funeral service : Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in Carpio Lutheran Church, Carpio.
Interment: Scandia Cemetery, rural Battleview, ND
Visitation: Tuesday, July 9 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
