Inga Alletta Endresen, 94, Minot and formerly of rural Minot, died on Tuesday, August 15, 2006, in a Minot nursing home.
Inga was born on December 5, 1911, in Linton Township of Ward County near Ryder, ND, to Mons and Jensina Bjordahl. She was raised and educated in Linton Township and graduated from Ryder High School. After attending Minot State University she taught in a one room school house in Linton Township for seven years. Inga married Clarence Endresen on June 8, 1938 in Minot. They made their home on a farm in Vang Township of Ward County near Ryder, ND where they raised small grains and cattle. In addition, Inga served as a substitute teacher at rural schools in the area. Clarence died on November 20, 1992. Inga moved to Minot in January of 1994 and resided at the Henry Towers for several years prior to moving to the Trinity Nursing Home.
Inga was a member of the Rose Valley Lutheran Church- rural Ryder and a former member of Zion Lutheran Church - rural Minot where she served as a Sunday School teacher. She was a member of the Farmers Union, Stitch and Chatter Club, Ryder PTA, Vang Township Board and was a 4-H leader.
Her loving family includes her three children: Duane (LaVone) Endresen of Rural Minot, Joyce (James) Harris of Minot and Larry (Faith) Endresen of Bettendorf, Iowa; Grandchildren: Dennis, Darryl (Lisa) and Darren (Sheri) Endresen, Brenda (Dan Firehammer) and Jay (Nancy) Harris and Michael and Jensina Endresen; Great Grandchildren: Madison, Kaylee and Jacob Endresen, Elletta and Anika Firehammer, Naycee, Nya and Kersey Harris; Step Great Grandchildren: Ian Korgel, Hannah and Emily Stauffer; Sister: Hazel Hovde of Pelican Rapids, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Inga was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters: Ella Marquardt, Clara Widdel, Agnes Walker, Emma Krueger and Alice Underdahl; and brothers: Melvin and Art Bjordahl and George Hovde.
Funeral Service:
Saturday August 19, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in Christ Lutheran Church - Minot;
Interment:
Rosehill Memorial Park - Minot;
Visitation:
Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot;
Memorials
are preferred to Rose Valley Lutheran Church or the donor's choice.
