Inga C. Hanson, 93, Minot, formerly of the Plaza-Makoti area, died Sunday, July 12, 2009 in a Minot Nursing Home.

Inga was born August 15, 1915 at Tynset, Norway the daughter of Martin and Martha (Ruten) Nevrost. She was raised and educated at Norway, until her family emigrated from Norway to the United States, when she was 8 years old. They settled on a farm in Linton Township of Ward County, where she attended schools through the eighth grade.

Inga was united in marriage to Oscar Hanson in January of 1933. They made their home on a farm in Lund Township near Makoti from 1933-1975. Oscar died in 1952. Their son, Ingvald, continued to farm the land and in 1975, Inga moved to Minot. She had lived at the Edgewood Vista Living Center from 1995 until moving to Trinity Nursing Home in 2006.

Inga was a member of Spring Valley Lutheran Church, rural Plaza. She enjoyed music, reading and going for long walks.

Her loving family includes: children, Myrtle Arness, Minot; Ingvald (Vickie) Hanson, Minot; Grandchildren: Rodney Arness, Connie (Danny) Kopp, Chad Hanson; Great-Grandchildren: Dallas, Shea, Jordan and Ty.

Inga was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Oscar and brothers, Simon and Bernard.

Funeral service: Friday at 10:00 a.m. in Trinity Homes Chapel, Minot.
Interment: Spring Valley Lutheran Cemetery, rural Plaza, ND.
Visitation: Thursday from 2:00-7:00 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
