Obituary

Howard Leo "Bud" Holbert, 76, 1300 32nd Ave. S.W. #113 - Minot and formerly of Parshall and Newburg, died on Monday August 7, 2006, in a Minot hospital.

Howard was born on March 19, 1930, in Holyoke, MN, to Howard and Hilma (Perrson) Holbert. He was raised and educated there and in Amherst, SD. As a young adult he assisted his father as a carpenter in Britton, SD. Howard married Audrey Carlson on December 24, 1953 in Britton, SD. They made their home in Britton where he was employed as an auto mechanic at the Ford auto dealership. The family moved to Parshall, ND, in 1963, where he was employed at Hedberg Motors and owned and operated the Standard Oil Service Station. They moved to Newburg in 1978 where he was employed at Cenex as an auto mechanic. Bud and Audrey moved to Minot in 2004.

Bud was a member of the American Legion Post in Parshall. His hobbies included woodworking, and gardening.

His loving family includes his wife of 52 years: Audrey; Children: Colonel Mike (Angela) Holbert of Hill AFB, Utah, Connie (Tony) Rademacher of New Rockford, ND, Joanne (Robert) Diffely of Plaza, ND and CMSGT Steve (Heidi) Holbert of Spokane, WA; Grandchildren: Shawn (Sonja) Diffely, Jason (Denise) Diffely, Steven (Abby) Diffely, Chad Diffely, Melissa (Kristen) Schepp, Jon (Dawn) Walsh, Jennifer Walsh, Abigail, Christian, Elizabeth, and Grant Holbert; Corey (Shannon) Rademacher, James Rademacher, Tina (David) Hilbert, and Alex Kimbrough; Great Grandchildren: Bree, Lexi, and Ellie Diffely; Kinsey, Megen, and Lynzee Schepp; Colby, Logan, and Jayden Walsh; Savannah, Carsyn, Clayre and Coltyn Hilbert, and Sam Jaeger; Sisters: Florence Hermanson and Marget Brown both of Everett, WA and Lorna Kirton of Winnipeg; Brothers: Charles Holbert of Mesa, AZ and Robert Holbert of Milbank, SD as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Debbie Walsh, great granddaughter, Kailei Walsh, sisters:Eleanor, Helen, Betty and Martha and brothers: Bill, Eric, and Richard.

Funeral Service: Friday August 11, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. in Bethany Lutheran Church - Minot.
Interment
will be in Rosehill Memorial Park - Minot.
Visitation:
Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.

are preferred to the American Cancer Society or the donor's choice.
