Herman Kelly Shinn, 74, Minot, died Friday, October 20, 2017 in a Minot hospital.

Herman was born December 19, 1942 in Spanish Fork, UT, the son of Richard and Betty (Powelson) Shinn. He was raised and educated in Sacramento CA, graduating from Del Norte High School in 1960.

Herman was last employed as a fork lift operator with Water Pic Corporation in Fort Collins, CO until retiring in 2003. He then joined his daughter Rebecca, who was in the United States Air Force and living in Isleham, Ely, UK. They moved to Minot in 2008. He has also lived in Roy, UT.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Herman will be missed by all who shared in his life.

Herman's loving family includes his children: David (Sandra) Shinn, Rio Linda, CA, Robert (Barbara) Shinn, Albuquerque, NM, Rebecca Wolff, Minot, ND and Victoria (Matt) Shawcroft, Fairbanks, AK; grandchildren: Kara Shinn, Christopher Richard, Brandon Brower, William Wolff, Mallory Shinn, Emma, Scott and Rachel Shawcroft, Shelby Shinn, James and Allie Shawcroft; great-grandchildren: Aiden and Awbree Brower and Ruka Meachum; brother: Norman D. Shinn, Fort Collins, CO and beloved pet ferret, Arthur MacArther.

Herman was preceded in death by his mother.

Funeral and burial will be held in Fort Collins, CO on Friday Oct 27, 2017 at Resthaven Funeral Home and Garden.
