Obituary

Herman Gordon Landers, 95, Kenmare died on Thursday, November 16, 2017 in a Minot hospital.

Herman was born on March 26, 1922 in Kenmare, ND to Harry and Gina (Monson) Landers. He was reared on the family farm in Spencer Township of Ward County near Kenmare and educated in rural schools. As a young adult he assisted in the operation of the farm, was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps, and was employed on the Ole Anderson and Bennie Christianson Farms.

Herman married Altha Sigloh on February 1, 1954 in Kenmare. They made their home on a farm in Spencer Township that Herman had purchased in 1942. They raised small grains, cattle and sheep and were the proud parents of two sons: Jerry and Randy. Altha died on January 29, 2006. Herman retired in 2013. He continued to live on the farm until moving to Edgewood Vista on February 14, 2017.

Herman was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church, Niobe Elevator Board of Directors, Farmer's Union Lumber Company Board of Directors, Moose Lodge and Farmer's Union. He especially enjoyed bowling, traveling, camping, square dancing and playing pinochle.

Herman's loving family includes his children: Jerry Landers and Randy (Julie) Landers all of Kenmare; grandson: Rocky Landers; sisters-in-law: Francis Lindberg of Texas, Dolly Lindberg of Stanley, Christine Sigloh of Kenmare and Wanda Landers of Minot and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Herman was preceded in death by his parents, wife and siblings: Irwin, Allen, Milton and Donald Landers, sisters: Emma Anderson and Hazel Sorenson and granddaughter: Crystal Ann Landers.

Celebration of the Life of Herman Landers: Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in Nazareth Lutheran Church - Kenmare.

Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery - Kenmare.

Visitation: One hour prior to the start of the service at the church.

Memorials are preferred to the Nazareth Lutheran Church.
