Obituary

Henry N. "Hank" Olson, 99, Minot, and formerly of the Glenburn and Bottineau areas, died Saturday, December 6, 2008 in a Minot Nursing home.

Henry was born January 17, 1909 on the family farm near Glenburn, North Dakota, where he was raised and educated. He assisted his father with the operation of the farmstead near Glenburn during his younger years.

Hank was united in marriage to Oline Miller on February 19, 1938 at Deering. He was employed with Westland Oil Company at Glenburn and also worked with the company at Deering and Bottineau, before becoming manager of the Farmers Union Oil Company at Souris, working there for over 38 years. They made their home at Souris, until moving to Bottineau in 1981. They moved to Minot in 1993. Oline died in March 29, 1999. Hank entered the Trinity Homes in December of 2003.

Hank was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Souris, where he served on the Church Council.He was also a former member of First Lutheran Church, Bottineau. After moving to Minot, they transferred their memberships to First Lutheran Church. He had been active in church, school and community activities, while living at Souris and had served as the president of the Bottineau Senior Citizens and active with the Bottineu Youth Baseball program.

His loving family includes: Children: Jerry (Florence) Olson, Champlin, MN; Dennis B.(Connie L.) Olson, Fargo, ND; Marlys (David) Coonrad, Bend, Oregon; Ten Grandchildren: Sixteen Great-Grandchildren; One Great-Great Grandchild; Sister: Clarice Schimmelpfenning, Minot; Brother: Carmen Olson, Minot.

Hank was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sisters, Olga and Mabel and brothers, Ray and Milton.

Funeral service: Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in Trinity Homes Chapel, Minot
Interment
: Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Rural Minot.
Visitation:
Friday from 2:00-7:00pm in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot
