Henry "Hank" William Anderson, 87, lifelong resident of Minot, passed peacefully at his home on September 1, 2017 surrounded by loving family and hospice.
Henry was born April 16, 1930 at Minot, North Dakota, the son of Clarence and Marjorie (Jones) Anderson. He was raised and educated in Minot, graduating from Minot High School in 1948. He enlisted with the U.S. Army and honorably served his country during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Betty A. Olson on September 15, 1951. They lived for a short time in Sparta, WI while Hank was stationed at Camp McCoy. He later was stationed in Korea, until he was honorably discharged and returned to Minot.
Hank was employed for more than 30 years with Minot Builder's Supply from the late 1950's until he retired in 1993. During those years, they also lived in Havre, MT for 10 years. Betty died on August 4, 2010. Hank continued to live at their residence on Skyline Drive where he loved his yard work, trees and gardening. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and the great outdoors throughout the years.
Hank is survived by : his children, Bill Anderson, St. Paul, MN, Kristy Ann Peterson, Minot, Richard (Laurie) Anderson, Naperville, IL, Vicki (Michael) Frank, Minot and David (Jena) Anderson, Allen, TX; grandchildren, Tate, Gracie, Katie, Sidney and Missy; great grandchildren, Taylor, Zachary, Kobe and Nicholas; nephew Fred (Natalie) Anderson, Mandan, Abigail, Sophia and Cooper.
Hank is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Betty and brother, William.
A private family graveside service will take place in Mid-September in Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
A Public Gathering and Booksigning: Monday, September 11, 2017 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Minot Park District Foundation or Trinity Hospice Program.
