Hazel Mueller, 84, Minot died on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 in her home.

Hazel was born on October 24, 1924 in Rising, ND to Walter and Rose (Johnson) Kemper. She was reared on the family farm and educated in rural schools in the area prior to graduating from Granville High School.

Hazel married Alvin Mueller on August 20, 1942 in Sidney, MT. They made their home in various places throughout the world where Alvin's job as an offshore drilling rig superintendent took them. These places included but were not limited to Bogota, Colombia; Singapore; Majorca, Spain; Perth, Australia; Manaus, Brazil and Papua, New Guinea.

Alvin retired in 1984 and they made their home in Cortez, Colorado. Alvin died on June 19, 1986. Following his death, Hazel moved to Denver, CO to be near her daughter and then to Minot in 1993 to be near other family.

Hazel attended the Congregational United Church of Christ and especially enjoyed gardening, crocheting, knitting, canning, cooking and baking.

Hazel's loving family includes her daughter: Carol (Stephen) Jager of Denver, CO; grandchildren: Jeff, Rustina and Tisha Cowley, Richard Mueller Jr. and Jamie Mueller; great grandchildren: Lexis and Ryan; sisters: Irene (Calvin) Adams of Arvada, CO and Marge (Jerald) Orth of Minot and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons: Russell and Richard and sister, Evelyn (Frank) Carpenter.

Funeral Service: Monday, August 24, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in the Congregational United Church of Christ - Minot.
Interment will be in the Cortez, CO Cemetery.
Visitation: Monday one hour prior to the funeral service in the church.
Memorials are preferred to Congregational United Church of Christ.
