H. Donald "Don" Christianson , 90, Minot, and formerly of Glenburn, died on Friday, December 22, 2023 at his home in Minot with his family at his side.

Don was born on December 28, 1932 on the farmstead east of Glenburn, ND to Morris and Ida (Haugen) Christianson. He was raised on the family farm near Glenburn and attended schools in Glenburn and Minot. Don graduated from Glenburn High School in 1950.  After graduating, he worked for Ringdahl Construction in Minot. Don entered into active-duty service with the U.S. Marine Corps and honorably served his country from 1953-1957 during the Korean War.

Don returned to North Dakota and was united in marriage to Marcella "Sally" Suko on November 28, 1959 at Vincent United Methodist Church Church in Minot. This union was blessed with two children: Wade and Kathy. They moved to Glenburn in 1961 where they farmed until 1989.  Don loved farming (his favorite grain was wheat) and he was an excellent carpenter using his skills to build many buildings on the farm including the farmhouse. In addition, he built a home in Mesa AZ, Minot and a cabin at Lake Metigoshe where the family enjoyed many summers.  He also helped friends with many building projects.  Don was a talented wood turner and loved spending many hours in his shop turning unique wood bowls and many other items for family and friends.  Don and Sally moved to Minot in 1989.

Don was a former member of First Baptist Church in Glenburn and was a current member of First Baptist Church – Minot.   He enjoyed watching baseball especially the St. Louis Cardinals and football especially the Green Bay Packers. Also, he enjoyed playing cards with friends and family.

Don's loving family includes his wife of 64 years: Sally; children: Wade (Kristi) Christianson and Kathy (Devin) Somerville all of Minot; grandchildren: Casey (Alyssa) Christianson, Jennifer (Zach) Hayes, Derek (Marlies) Somerville and Amanda Somerville (Andrew Roach); great grandchildren: Hudson, Graham and Raglan; sister in law: Maxine Christianson and several nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Tilfred, Lester (Pearl), Conrad (Agnes), Ralph (Virginia) and Ervin Christianson; sisters: Georgia (Clarence) Johnson and Myrtle (Nels) Snustad.

Celebration of the Life of Don Christianson :  Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in First Baptist Church- Minot.  A livestream of the service can be accessed by using https://www.fbcminot.org/watch
Inurnment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are preferred to First Baptist Church – Glenburn (P.O. Box 306 -58740 or First Baptist Church – Minot (200 3rd St. S.W.).  Please note Don Christianson Memorial on the memo line.
