Harry H. Olson, 86, Minot, died Monday, October 5, 2009 in a Minot Nursing Home.

Harry was born May 12, 1923 at Wahpeton, North Dakota, the son of Arnold and Frieda (Christopherson) Olson. He was raised and educated at Wahpeton. He assisted his father with the operation of the family business, Olson Motor Company, in Wahpeton and maintained an ownership interest from 1946-1955.

Harry was united in marriage to Marcella Shebeck on September 19, 1942 at Wahpeton. They moved to California for two years, prior to returning to Wahpeton. He was a partner with his father at Olson Bearing Company until 1966. They moved to Minot in 1966, where he became employed at the Minot Air Force Base as a welder. He retired in 1986. Marcella died on November 23, 2004.

Harry was a member of Calvary Alliance Church, Minot. He was a member of the Minot Eagles Aerie and Elks Lodge #1089. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling.

His loving family includes: Children, Barry (Jean) Olson, Pequot Lakes, MN, Ryan (Kim) Olson, Rapid City, SD, Gayle Thompson, Minot, Melissa (Rodney Jensen) Marshall, Minot, ND; Thirteen Grandchildren, Nine Great-Grandchildren; brothers, Arnold Olson, Jr., Corpus Christi, TX, Donald Olson, Phoenix, AZ, Phillip Olson, Phoenix, AZ; Sister, Mardell Hall, Phoenix, AZ, extended family, Cathy Olson and Roger Thompson and several nieces and nephews.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Marcella, son, Bruce Olson, and 4 brothers and sisters.

Funeral service: Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Homes Chapel, located on the third floor, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation: Friday from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
