Obituary

Harry Richard Grosche, 86, Minot died on Friday in a Minot hospital.

Harry was born on March 19, 1922 in Waterford Township of Ward County near Ruthville, ND to Carl and Caroline (Frey) Grosche. He was reared on the family farm and attended rural schools in that area.

Harry married Delraine Blada on February 22, 1945, and they made their home in Minot.

He was employed by Culligan Water Company and Texaco Oil Company prior to owning and operating Grosche Oil and Equipment. After selling Grosche Oil and Equipment, he traveled extensively as a construction engineer for Cenex until his retirement in 1987.

Harry was a charter member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Minot, and as Associate member of Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mesa, AZ. His hobbies included playing pinnacle, horseback riding near Medora, gardening, camping, fishing, traveling and picture puzzles. Red and Del spent the winter months at their home in Mesa, AZ for twenty-three years.

Red was a kind and gentle man who valued family and friends above all things and was loved by all those fortunate enough to share in his life.

Harry's loving family includes his wife of 63 years Delraine; three children: Larry, Bonnie (Rex) and Bill (Bette) all of Minot; grandchildren: Amy (Darin) Benno, Cory, Dawn, Leigh (Chad), Travis (Tiffany), Brent (Bianca) and Jeffrey (Stacy); eleven great grandchildren; Sister: Ruth Earsley, Lubbock TX; Brothers: Wengert (Hazel) of Portland OR, Carlton and Donald (Sharon) of Minot as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins

Harry was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister Gloria Jean and brothers: Louis and Walter Grosche.

Funeral Service : Tuesday, July 21, 2008 at 10:00 a.m., in St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment will be in Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation: Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
In lieu of plants and flowers memorials are preferred to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Minot or the Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch.
