Obituary

Harris Fagerland, 92, Minot and formerly of Crosby and Noonan died on Thursday, February 2, 2012 in a Minot healthcare center.

Harris was born on October 14, 1919 in Noonan, ND to Knut and Augusta (Sandver) Fagerland. He was raised and educated near Noonan and as a young adult he assisted on the family farm and worked at various jobs.

Harris married Ellen Hassler on January 21, 1945 in Plentywood, MT. They made their home in Noonan where he was employed in various jobs and at Gordon Hide and Fur. He purchased the inventory from the Emil Gordon Estate in 1973 and owned and operated Crosby Hide N Fur until its sale in 2005. They moved into Crosby in 1977 and to Minot in 2005.

Harris attended the Noonan and Crosby Assemblies of God and since their move to Minot he attended the Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Minot. Also, he was a member of the Crosby Senior Citizens and Historical Society. Harris' hobbies included playing with his grandchildren, playing games and enjoying his family.

Harris' loving family includes his wife of 67 years Ellen; children: Maxine Fagerland (Linda Hamann), Fargo, Karen (Darrell) Losing, Jamestown, Ron (Georgia) Fagerland, Coulterville, IL, Dale (Judy) Fagerland, Springfield, MO, Jim (Janet) Fagerland, Center, Eileen (Eugene) Berg, Larimore, Stan Fagerland, Sheridan, WY, and Melody (Tom) Baker, Minot; 18 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; brothers: Orville Fagerland, Everett, WA and Warren Fagerland, Rapid City, SD; sister: Delores Morrical, Everett, WA and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Harris was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Mabel Lee, Alma Kimball, and Esther Gochanour and brothers: John and Kenny Fagerland.

Funeral Service: Monday, February 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Evangelical Free Church.
Interment will be in Rosehill Memorial Park - Minot.
Visitation: Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Youth for Christ, Salvation Army, ManorCare Health Services, all of Minot or to an organization of the donor's choice.
