Obituary

Harriet Olivia Johnson, 91, Minot and formerly of rural Deering, died on Saturday, March 24, 2007 in a Minot health-care center.

Harriet was born on July 11, 1915, in Russell, ND, to Steve and Ruth (Schillinger) Wolff. She was raised and educated in Russell and graduated from Russell High School in 1933. As a young adult she attended Park River Agricultural College in Park River ND and assisted on the family farm.

Harriet Wolff and William Johnson were married on October 20, 1943, in Russell, ND. They made their home on the Johnson family farm in Grilley Township of McHenry County northeast of Deering, ND, for forty-four years, where they raised small grains and cattle. Harriet and Bill moved to Minot in 1988 and had resided at Edgewood Vista prior to sharing a room at ManorCare Health Services.

Harriet and Bill were members of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Minot, and former members of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Upham, and St. Olaf Lutheran Church, rural Deering where, they were caretakers of the church cemetery for many years. He had been a caretaker of the cemetery since 1928.

She especially enjoyed gardening, cooking and traveling.

Harriet and William are survived by several nieces and nephews including Lowell Dunlop of Billings, MT, Shirley Sorum of Kenmare, ND, John Dunlop of Minot, ND, James Cooke of Garrison, ND and JoAnn Pieczuleski of Detroit, MI

Harriet was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Myron Bruce Johnson; sister, Doris Cooke; and niece, Judy Mosloff.

Funeral Service: Friday, March 30, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mark's Lutheran Church - Minot.
Interment
will be in St. Olaf Lutheran Church Cemetery later in the Spring.
Visitation:
Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
Memorials
are preferred to St. Olaf Lutheran Church Cemetery perpetual care fund or the donor's choice
