Obituary

Harriet Loraine "Happy" Johnson , 92, Oshkosh, Wisconsin, formerly of Minot, died on Sunday, September 29, 2012 in an Oshkosh, WI retirement center.

Harriet was born on April 18, 1920 in Minneapolis, MN to Mahlon and Nettie (Dool) White. She was reared and educated in Minneapolis, MN and graduated from West High School in 1937. Following her graduation from high school, she continued to live in Minneapolis. She married Robert H. Johnson on June 30, 1940 in Minneapolis and they continued to make their home there before moving to Grand Forks, ND in 1953. In 1958, they moved to Minot where Mr. Johnson managed a branch of Wallman Optical and operated the business until his retirement. Robert died on February 23, 1978. Following the death of her husband, Happy continued to make her home in Minot until moving to Oshkosh, WI in 1992 to be nearer her children.

She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and a former member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church which later merged to form Faith United Methodist Church. She was an avid painter and appreciated antiques.

Happy's loving family includes her children : daughters, Patricia (Ken) Krippner, St. Louis, MO; Julie Kirklin, Paris, MO; Jill Johnson, Oshkosh, WI; sons, Tom (Sally) Johnson, Aurora, IL; and Jim Johnson, Mayville, ND; fourteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Happy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters: Kathryn "Tot" Swenson and Mary Williams, brother: Bob White and son-in-law: Don Kirklin.

A private graveside service was held at Rosehill Memorial Park Minot following a service in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
