Harold T. Rovig, 91, Minot and longtime Ward County resident, died Saturday, February 28, 2009 in a Minot Nursing Home.
Harold was born November 25, 1917 in Burt Township of Ward County, the son of Torger and Anna (Bentley) Rovig. He was raised on the family farm in Burt Township and educated at country schools in that area. He assisted with the operation of the farm during his younger years and was united in marriage to Opal Irwin on October 14, 1939 at rural Minot.
After their marriage, they moved to Velva, where he was employed at the Truax-Traer Coal Mines. They later moved to a farm near Minot, until purchasing a farm in Burt Township of the South Prairie area, where they farmed from 1945 until 1984. During his farming years, he was also employed with Harshberger Construction from 1962-1982. They moved to Albany, Oregon in 1984 to be nearer their son. Harold was employed by the School District there as a carpenter. He and Opal returned to Minot in 1995.
Harold was a member of the Lighthouse Church. He was a former member of the Minot Eagles Aerie and Moose Lodge. He enjoyed woodworking and working with his horses.
His loving family includes: wife of nearly 70 years, Opal, son, Lonnie (Carol) Rovig, Albany, Oregon, grandchildren, Sandra, Scott, Susan, Stacie, and Jonni; five great-grandchildren; sister, Agnes Warner, Minot.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, two infant sons at birth; brothers, Merle, Orville and twin brother, Herbert; sisters, Gladys, Luella, Florence and Marian.

: Thursday, March 5, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in First Assembly of God Church, Minot
Burial:
Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation:
Wednesday from 2:00-7:00pm in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials:
Memorials are preferred to the Lighthouse Church.
