Obituary

Hailey Renae Duke, 19 months, infant daughter of Shawn and Amanda Duke, Minot, formerly of Berthold, died Tuesday, June 14, 2011, in a Minneapolis hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Hailey was born October 23, 2009, in Minot, ND, the fifth of six children to Shawn and Amanda (Middaugh) Duke. Although born with hypoplastic heart syndrome, Hailey was our sunlight through many surgeries performed at the University of Minnesota Amplatz Children's Hospital and the time at the Ronald McDonald House.

She always carried a smile, no matter what she was going through. Her appearance was simple, bright colors, blanket with a nuk, in perfect position, complimented with zigzag pony tails that only mommy could get just right. Daddy was easily wrapped around her finger, mommy's arms always kept her safe and she lit up at the first glimpse of all her brothers and sisters, no matter how bad she felt. Wagon rides were a favorite activity enjoyed by the entire family.

Hailey is with our Lord, a true angel. She fought the good fight, won the race and kept the faith. We miss you little oneour daughter, granddaughter, sister and niece... now, forever and always.

Her loving family includes: parents, Shawn and Amanda Duke, Minot; siblings, Kaitlyn (9), Samuel (8), Summer (6), Nathanael (3) and Cassidy (2 months); maternal grandmother, Brenda Middaugh, Minot; maternal grandfather, Harold Middaugh, Lansford, ND; paternal grandfather, Steven Duke, Minot; maternal great-grandmother, Elaine Feland, Antler, ND; maternal great-grandparents, Jerald and Deloris Middaugh, Minot; paternal great-grandmother, Marilyn Seney, Minot; paternal great-grandparents, Charles and Jeannette Duke, Minot and uncles, Wayne, Joshua and Noah Middaugh.
