Gudrun Berg , 96, Minot, passed away Friday, August 10, 2007, at the Trinity Nursing Home.

Gudrun was born January 23, 1911, in Heimdal, ND, the daughter of Severin and Mina (Varaas) Rogness. She attended country school, Heimdal Middle School, and graduated from Maddock High School in 1931. She attended Fairview Hospital School of Nursing, in Minneapolis,graduating as a registered nurse. Gudrun nursed at Trinity Hospital, Minot before relocating to Miami, FL where she continued her nursing career.

Gudrun was united in marriage to RoyBerg on June 28, 1940, in Miami Springs, FL. They made their home in Chicago, South Dakota, and later Fargo, where she worked as a nurse in the VA Hospital. They moved to Minot in 1957, where she began working at the Northwest Clinic.

Gudrun was a charter member of Christ Lutheran Church, Minot and the WELCA. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and learned the almost-forgotten art of tatting from her mother. She liked to garden, especially flower gardening. She was always there to help make lefse for the Hostfest, and enjoyed making quilts at the church.

Surviving family members include: sister: Dagny Ellingson, Bismarck, ND, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Gudrun was preceded in death by her parents, husband, twin infant sons, brothers Olav and Thor, and sister Ingrid.

Funeral Service : Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in Christ Lutheran Church - Minot.
Visitation : Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Christ Lutheran Church.
