Obituary

Gordon H. Shambach, 70, Minot, died Wednesday, December 5, 2007 in a Fargo Assisted Living Facility.

Gordon was born March 15, 1937 in Brinsmade, North Dakota, the son of Shiloh and Mary (Herman) Shambach. He was raised and educated at Brinsmade and graduated from Leeds High School in 1956. He attended the St. Paul Bible Institute from 1956-59 and then the Hub City Bible Institute in Aberdeen, SD, where he graduated in 1962 as valedictorian.

Gordon was united in marriage to Lila O. Usher on July 14, 1962 at Minot. They made their home in Minot and Burlington for a number of years, while he was employed at Oak Park Piggly Wiggly as a baker until 1968, when he began employment with Heinemann Kitchen Bakery until 1983. They moved to Fergus Falls for a short time, and then returned to Minot, where he resumed his position as a baker with the Arrowhead Sun Mart Bakery. He retired in 1996 due to ill health. Lila died January28, 2003. He then married Lucille Wolfe on June 16, 2004. She died August 13, 2006. Gordon had most recently moved to Fargo to be nearer family.

Gordon was a former member of North Hill Baptist Church and enjoyed reading, singing, playing board games and cards.

His loving family includes : Children: Loranne Shambach, Minneapolis, MN, Gwyneth (Wayne) Hafstad, Bellingham, WA, Londa Badgley, Minot, Gayle Shambach, Tacoma, WA and Gaylen (Myrna) Shambach, Fergus Falls, MN; Step-Children: Patty Poleschook, Ellen Culbertson, Kathy Ayala, Michael Marmon and Kevin Wolfe; Eleven Grandchildren, Two Great-Grandchildren, Several Step-Grandchildren and Step-Great Grandchildren; Sisters, Norma Rose, Rolette, ND, Mary Alice Dryden, Lakeside, CA, Esther Gerig, Fargo, ND.

Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, wives, Lila and Lucille, infant daughter, Karen Louise, sisters, Berniece, Lorraine, and Grace and brother, Floyd.

Funeral service : Saturday, December 8, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in Life Changers Community Church, located at 234 14th Ave S.E. Minot;
Interment:
at a later date in the Brinsmade Cemetery, Brinsmade, ND
Visitation
: At the request of the family, there will be no reviewal, however friends may sign the memorial register book on Friday from 3:00-7:00pm in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
