Gordon Dale "Pooter" Erickson, 76, of Minot, ND passed away unexpectedly Friday, July 10, 2015 at his home.

Gordon Dale "Pooter" Erickson was born on August 17, 1938 in Platte, SD to Otto and Emma (Ninnemann) Erickson. He attended and graduated from Platte High School.

On June 15, 1958 he married Loretta Jean Haushild at West Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Platte. Four children were born to this union.The family farmed in the Platte area until 1966, when they sold their farm and moved to Montana. With Gordon's work they moved to many locations: Washington, Wyoming, New Jersey and California.

In 1985, they purchased a restaurant in Billings, MT that they owned and operated until 1997. They bought, managed and sold other restaurants and properties including motels until 2006, when they moved to Minot, ND to manage an apartment complex. After Loretta passed away in 2010, Gordon continued to live in Minot and work for Professional Transportation, Inc.

Gordon loved anything outdoors, to tell jokes, play cards, attend auctions, work with scrap iron, collect coins and plant massive gardens.

Grateful for having shared in Gordon's life: his four children: Mark, Sr. and his wife, Doreen of Stanley, ND; Patrick and his wife, Val of Millville, NJ; Paula Lundell and her husband, Steve of Billings, MT and Tamara Owen and her husband, Mark of Portland, OR; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Bruce of Platte, SD and a sister-in-law, MaryLee Erickson of Platte, SD; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: his wife; his parents; two brothers, Dean and Robert; and a sister, Lavonne.

Memorial Service: Monday, July 20, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in Our Redeemer\'s Lutheran Church, Minot.

Funeral Services are 10:30 A.M. Friday, July 17, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Platte, SD.

A Committal Service will follow at West Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, rural Platte. Visitation will be held from 5:00 7:00 P.M.

Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Mount Funeral Home in Platte with a 7:00 P.M. Prayer Service
