Gloria Kay West, 71, Minot died on Monday, April 28, 2014 in a Minot healthcare center.
Gloria was born on January 1, 1943 in Minot to Virgil and Lilly (Hansen) Miller. She was reared and educated in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1961 Gloria was once married to Donald Taylor and they made their home at various U.S. Air Force bases throughout the world. Following their divorce she resided in Alamogordo, NM and Dallas, TX. She returned to Minot in 1990 where she was employed as a bookkeeper at Cenex for many years. Gloria married James West on April 13, 1996 in Minot. Following her retirement they had continued to make their home in Minot.
Gloria especially enjoyed caring for her pet dogs, bowling, crocheting, reading and knitting.
Gloria is survived by her loving husband of 18 years James; children: Ronda (Ronald) Speed of Waxahachie TX, Jeffrey (Judy) Taylor of Farmers Branch TX and Bradley (Barbara) Taylor of Franklin TN; eight grandchildren, sister-in-law: Dorothy Miller of Minot and several nieces and nephews.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, stepdaughter: Torrie West, sister: Bonnie Lyon and brother: Virgil Miller.
Celebration of the Life of Gloria West: Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Home- Minot.
Interment will be in Rosehill Memorial Park- Minot.
Visitation: Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home Minot.
Memorials are preferred to the Souris Valley Animal Shelter or the donor's choice.
