Gloria Signalness , 87, Minot, died Tuesday, June 15, 2021, in a Minot hospital.

Gloria Ann was born September 26, 1933, in Glenwood, Minnesota to Alvin and Georgine (Reirson) Alsaker. She attended school in Glenwood. Gloria was united in marriage to Odean "Dean" Signalness on March 22, 1949, at Lutheran Parsonage in Glenwood. They moved to Minot shortly after getting married.

Gloria and Dean moved to Burlington in 1961 where they owned and operated Burlington Texaco and Repair for many years. After selling this business, Dean opened "Dean's Repair," a shop right at their home.  Gloria did the bookkeeping and ran for parts for the business all the years it was open.  In addition to being a crucial part of this business, Gloria held other jobs during this time, including babysitting, working in the nursery at Trinity Hospital, sewing jackets, selling Avon, and also worked for an independent business designing and decorating wood home décor to be sold in stores throughout North Dakota and Minnesota.  The position she was most proud of was her role as a part time foster grandparent at Burlington Elementary School.  Her work ethic was strong, and she found joy in serving others.

Gloria continued to reside in Burlington for 3 years following Dean's death on August 8, 2004.  She then moved to her own little home in Minot.

Gloria was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church in Burlington.  Faith and service were very important to her.  Gloria's hobbies included sewing, quilting, camping and fishing, doing puzzles, playing cards, having coffee with friends, gardening, and feeding the birds.  Most importantly, she loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Gloria is survived by her daughter: Gayle (Neil) Bakken, Williston, ND; granddaughters: Andrea (Craig) Shellen and Chantel Brace, all Prior Lake, MN; grandsons: Father Jason Signalness, Stanley, ND, Aaron Olson, Bismarck, ND and Ira (Heather) Signalness, Hudson, WI; great-grandchildren: Karissa Brace and Noah and Ziva Signalness; sister: Irene Bingham, Glenwood, MN, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather: Glen Cummings; husband: Odean; son: Robert; and sister: Marion Holen.
