Gloria Lenton, 81, Minot, formerly of Norwich, died Monday, February 8, 2021 in a Minot Assisted Living Center.
Gloria was born July 25, 1939 at Minot, North Dakota, the daughter of Ervin and Mae (Hartlieb) Klimpel. She was raised at Sawyer for a short time, before moving with her family to Minot, where she was educated and graduated from Minot High School in 1957. During her younger years, she was employed with Carney's Gardens, Cut Rate Grocery and Red Owl Stores in Minot.
Gloria was united in marriage to Gary Lenton on May 15, 1959 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Minot.
They made their home on a farm in Surrey Township before moving to a farm in Norwich Township of McHenry County. They were the proud parents of three children and raised small grains as well as beef and dairy cattle. Gary died July 20, 2016.

She was a proud life member at Norwich Lutheran Church, serving in several ways including: WELCA, as a Bible study leader, Council member, birthday club and homemaker's group. She had the nickname of "roadrunner" due to her love of driving many friends and family to appointments far and wide. As a farmer's wife, she loved and saw the beauty in the State of North Dakota. She conveyed her love by volunteering at the Minot Visitor Center, meeting and greeting people. She had also registered people for the Flu drive, was a member of the Minot Moose Lodge, Danny O'Donnel fan club, exhibited baked goods at the ND State Fair and volunteered at the Hostfest annually. Memorial Day was always a day of celebration with flowers placed and coffee at several cemeteries. She had enjoyed sewing, quilting, going to auction sales and bowling, along with spending time with her family and numerous friends.
