Gloria I. Cox, 84, Surrey, died Friday, December 31, 2010 in a Minot Healthcare Center.

Gloria was born December 14, 1926 at Minot, North Dakota, one of eleven children to Harold and Catharine (Groninger) Haugen. She was raised on a farm near Des Lacs, North Dakota and educated at Des Lacs through the twelfth grade.

Gloria was united in marriage to Joseph Cox on November 5, 1954 at Minot. They made their home throughout the years at Minot and Surrey. She had been employed with Trinity Hospital for a number of years in the dietary/food services department. Joseph died October 28, 2002.

Gloria was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Minot. She enjoyed playing bingo, most recently at Bingorama. She loved to play Santa Claus for family and friends and was well known for her show rabbits.

Her loving family includes : son, Franklin (Candy) Cox, Surrey; sisters, Bonnie Patterson, Minot and Ruth Detlaff, Glenburn; several nieces and nephews.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Robert, Gary, Harold Jr.; sisters, Anna, Joyce, Ida, Faye and Jean.

Funeral service : Friday, January 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in First Presbyterian Church, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot
Visitation : Thursday, January 6, 2011 from 2:00-7:00pm in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
